This contemporary carol was
written by Buddy Greene and
Mark Lowry, and first recorded
in 1990. Lots of artists have sung
it since, like Kenny Rogers and
Wynonna, in this version cut
in 1997. It's the title song
on a country compilation CD
on the Warner label.

and lead vocal, joins here
with The Chieftains on this
song he wrote specifically for
THE BELLS OF DUBLIN CD,
released in '91 on
the RCA VICTOR label.

If Steven Curtis Chapman wasn't
a "Christian/Pop" writer and performer,
he'd still be on the charts - somewhere -
country, progressive rock, who knows?
He's so good he could probably
make it with a kazoo and tambourine.
